Bayview Community Shuttle - January 2024 Update

Outreach & Survey Results

Since January 2023, the Bayview Community Shuttle Program has engaged with close to 2,000 residents and collected over 600 surveys from the Bayview-Hunters Point and surrounding communities through 28 different events.

We heard many people want to take short trips that start and end within the Bayview. 76 people told us that they want connections to specific transit lines, such as to the T Third. Others gave destinations that are easily accessible via already-existing Muni lines, such as Chinatown. While a shuttle may not be able to take you all the way to that destination, a direct lift to the T Third would make that trip much easier.

For more detailed results on survey responses and service plan alternatives, please visit the most recent Bayview Community Shuttle Program blog post and the Bayview Community Shuttle outreach materials page.

Bayview Community Shuttle Vendor Selection

We completed the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and have selected Via as the highest ranked proposer.  Via is a transportation partner with several Bay Area cities, including Richmond and Palo Alto, and we look forward to working with them after completing the contract negotiation process.  Pending contract finalization, the SFMTA will seek contract approval from the SFMTA Board of Directors in Spring 2024.
