Lunar New Year Community Fair: March 7-8, 2026

Event Summary

The annual two-day Lunar New Year Community Street Fair will take place in Chinatown on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Streets will be closed from Friday night to Sunday night and Muni will reroute the 12 Folsom/Pacific Route. Read below for more detailed information.

Street Closures

These streets will be closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday:

• Grant, between Broadway and California
• Pacific, between Stockton and Columbus
• Jackson, between Stockton and Kearny
• Washington, between Stockton and Kearny
• Commercial, between Grant and Kearny
• Beckett, between Pacific and Jackson
• Ross, between Jackson and Washington
• Wentworth, between Jackson and Washington 
• Spofford, between Washington and Sacramento
• Waverly, between Washington and Clay
• Sacramento, between Kearny and Grant

Free Muni Service and Parking at Portsmouth Square Garage

• Muni will offer free service, except on cable cars, all day Saturday, March 7.
• The Portsmouth Square Garage will provide one (1) Hour of free parking from February 8, 2026 to March 8, 2026. No validation needed, simply take your ticket to one of the nine pay stations and the system will automatically take one (1) hour off your total parking duration (tickets over 8 hours will not qualify for the free hour).

Muni Service Changes

Consult the table below for the service changes to the 12 Folsom/Pacific Route. Service will return to normal with the start of service on Monday, March 9.

  • Beginning Saturday around 2 p.m., the 12 Folsom/Pacific will have an additional downtown reroute during the Chinese New Year Parade.
