UPDATE: Townsend Corridor Improvement Project Construction Forecast

Muni customers should be aware that as the construction work zone shifts along the south side of Townsend Street between 4th and 5th streets, stops for the following lines will shift approximately 250 feet west on that block:

  • 10 Townsend
  • 47 Van Ness
  • 83X Mid-Market Express

Temporary passenger loading zones for private cars, ride hail, paratransit, private shuttles and other vehicles are now located on both sides of Townsend Street mid-block between 3rd and 4th streets. Taxi pick up and drop off is temporarily located on 4th Street at the entrance to the Caltrain Station.

Access for people walking, biking, and driving will be maintained during construction. Signs on location will be regularly updated while crews work on the projects in sections throughout the corridor. Construction will generally occur between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday with some night and weekend work.
