Lincoln Way Quick-Build Project - Construction Update

Construction of the Lincoln Way Quick-Build Project is underway! Over the next few weeks, crews from SFMTA Sign, Curb and Paint Shops will be installing pedestrian safety improvements and traffic calming treatments along the Lincoln Way corridor. Construction will continue over the next few weeks and is expected to be completely installed by the end of April 2024.

Project Elements Under Construction:

  • Safe hit posts and striping at new pedestrian safety zones (PSZs)
  • Safe hit posts and rubber speed bumps for left turn safety treatments
  • New continental crosswalks
  • Daylighting
  • Hardened centerline between 20th Avenue and 19th Avenue
  • Signal timing upgrades

What to expect during construction?

  • Construction typically occurs between the hours of 7 am and 2 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Pedestrian pathways and access to driveways and commercial/residential buildings will be maintained at all times. Existing transit stops will also be accessible during construction.
  • At times, there may be temporary lane closures as crews perform work (i.e., removing and adding roadway and curb color paint, installing plastic safe-hit posts and signs), resulting in possible travel delays. Please incorporate extra travel time to your trips during construction.
  • Traffic will be routed around construction activity as necessary but will not be detoured.

We will be posting construction updates on our project page as needed. For more information, please visit: SFMTA.com/LincolnQB
