North Beach Utility Relocation 11/16/12

Construction Update

North Beach Utility Relocation

This week Central Subway crews continued to perform sewer construction and began work in the median of Columbus Avenue between Union and Powell streets.

Next week the contractor will restore the construction site. By the end of the day on Wednesday, the site will be paved, and all lanes will be reopened to traffic. In addition, the northbound bus stop on this block of Columbus Avenue will be open during regular service hours starting Thursday, November 22.

Central Subway crews will not be working in this area during the holiday season (Thanksgiving to New Year's Day); however, AT&T may be performing work related to the Central Subway in December. AT&T’s work will involve a crew of approximately two people working inside manholes to splice telephone connections. There will be no street excavation for this work.

During the holiday season, we will email construction updates as needed instead of once a week.

Should you have questions about construction or the Central Subway Project, don't hesitate to contact our team. You can reach us at central.subway@sfmta.com or by phone at 415-701-4371.

We appreciate your continued patience while construction is in progress.
