Potrero Yard Modernization Project December 2022 Update

Neighborhoods Affected

As we approach the end of 2022, we are excited to be launching the next phase of the Potrero Yard Modernization Project. We have already begun introducing the Potrero Neighborhood Collective developer team and their project concept design to the community. We’ll have more events coming up in 2023, so stay tuned. We hope you enjoy the holiday season!

► Neighborhood Working Group meets developer team

On Tuesday, December 6, 2022 the selected developer for the project — Potrero Neighborhood Collective (PNC) — met with the Potrero Yard Neighborhood Working Group. The PNC team presented an overview of the project, which is at the five-percent design stage, and got initial feedback from the Working Group on the concept design and streetscape elements. The Working Group will be resuming regular meetings during the pre-development agreement phase, which is expected to last 20 months, and will continue to provide input into the project’s open decision points.

► Pre-application meeting

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 the PNC team hosted the first in a series of a community meetings to invite neighbors and community members to meet the developer team and engage with the project. This event was held just a few blocks from the Potrero Yard site in the community space at Casa Adelante, 681 Florida Street, and attendees offered input and feedback on the project's design, streetscape and other open decision points (and enjoyed some tasty tamales in the process). This meeting was held as part of the SF Planning Department’s application process. Stay tuned for more community meetings in 2023.

► San Francisco Transit Riders tour Potrero Yard

Members of the San Francisco Transit Riders gathered together at the yard on Thursday, December 15, 2022 to commemorate the season with a facility tour. The Project Team was happy to host the advocacy group and enjoyed their enthusiasm and informed questions!

Public tours of Potrero Yard are generally offered monthly, and information about available tours is posted on the project web site at sfmta.com/PotreroYard.

► Potrero Yard project updates presented to SFCTA

SFMTA Building Progress team members recently appeared before the San Francisco County Transportation Authority at two different meetings to provide updates on the Potrero Yard Modernization Project. On November 30, 2022 the SFCTA Community Advisory Committee received a project update and commended the team on the project's progress and the partnership with the PNC developer team.

On December 13, 2022 the SFCTA Board received an informational update on the pre-development agreement phase of the project. Check out the positive feedback received from commissioners in the meeting recording.

We wish you a happy holiday season!
