► Potrero Yard Modernization Project approved by SFMTA Board and the BOS Budget & Finance Committee
The Project Agreement legislation for the Potrero Yard Modernization Project was approved on March 3 by the SFMTA Board of Directors, and earlier this week (March 18) unanimously by the Board of Supervisors Budget & Finance Committee.

Public comments were accepted on March 18 at the Budget & Finance Committee meeting, however according to legislative rules there will not be a public comment opportunity at next week's Board of Supervisors meeting. You may still submit a general comment by emailing bos@sfgov.org. All comments will be made a part of the official record.
If the project is approved by the Board of Supervisors, then for the remainder of 2026 the project team will finalize the SFMTA’s move-out from the yard, conduct additional site due diligence, and begin removing the overhead lines from the site. Webcor — the selected prime contractor — would begin demolition of the existing facility in early 2027. Construction is scheduled to be completed in 2030.
