Public Hearing July 9, 2019

Neighborhoods Affected

SFMTA is currently working on implementing Quick Build traffic safety improvements on 7th Street between Folsom Street and 16th Street, as part of the City's Vision Zero commitment to prioritize traffic safety and eliminate all traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries. This follows the 2017 installation of protected bike lanes between Market and Folsom and continues the buildout of a more connected protected bikeway network. The Townsend to 16th Street segment is further accelerated by a construction coordination opportunity now that this section of the roadway is newly repaved.

The project team is planning to install protected bike lanes along both sides of 7th Street between Townsend and 16th streets this July. The overall scope of changes includes more consistent and organized travel lanes, high visibility crosswalks, on-street parking removal, and signal design changes.

To learn more about the project and to submit a Public Hearing comment, we invite you to attend the Public Hearing on July 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Recology Golden Gate, Auditorium Room at 900 7th Street.
