Sustainable transportation mode share

Measuring the sustainable transportation mode share helps the SFMTA track its progress toward achieving San Francisco’s Climate Action, Vision Zero, and Transit First policy goals and informs future efforts to make sustainable transportation modes the preferred means of travel.

Sustainable transportation mode share is determined by dividing the number of sustainable modes (transit, walk, bike, and taxi) trips, by the total number of all trips estimated through the Travel Decision Survey and is reported city-wide.

sum ([sustainable mode trips]) ÷ sum ([all trips])

Achieve 60% sustainable transportation mode share in FY20
