F Market & J Church Motorization: August 23-24, 2025

Summary

On Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, bus shuttles will provide service on the J Church and F Market & Wharves lines during all hours of service due to preventative maintenance work on the overhead wires during our Fix-It Weekend.

Muni Service Changes

• F Market & Wharves: F Shuttle buses will operate along the entire route, in both directions, between 17th St & Castro St and Fisherman’s Wharf.
  • Stops for the F Market & Wharves Shuttle buses will be at the normal stop locations.
• J Church (Inbound): J Shuttle buses will operate between Balboa Park and Church St & Duboce Ave.
  • Riders may transfer from J buses at Church St & Market St to Church Station, then board any eastbound K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Ocean View or S Shuttle train for continued travel toward Downtown or they may transfer at Church St & Duboce Ave to an eastbound N Judah train
  • Buses will service curbside stops except at the following locations where the existing boarding island locations will be used:
    • Church St & 24th St
    • Church St & 16th St
    • Church St & Market St
    • Church St & Duboce Ave

• J Church (Outbound): J Shuttle buses will operate between Church St & Market St and Balboa Park.
  • Board any westbound K Ingleside, L Taraval, M Ocean View or S Shuttle train in the subway and ride to Church Station. Transfer to J buses on the surface via Church St & Market St for continued travel toward Balboa Park.
  • Buses will service curbside stops except at the following locations where the existing boarding island locations will be used:
    • Church St & 14th St (north of Market)
    • Church St & 16th St
    • Church St & 24th St
    • San Jose Ave & Santa Rosa Ave
    • San Jose Ave & Ocean Ave
