L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast Jan. 13 - Jan. 24, 2020

Work Forecast Plan for the Weeks of January 13 to January 24, 2020

 

Details of Work Performed:
  • Continuation of sewer main replacement is planned for the weeks of January 13-17 and January 20-24 between 40th - 37th Avenue on the northside of Taraval.
  • Excavation of small exploratory holes to verify the locations of existing underground utilities is planned for the week of January 13-17 on the southside of Taraval between 40th-37th Avenue.
  • Continuation of water line work is planned for the week of January 13-17 between 46th and 45th Avenue; and January 20-24 between 45th and 44th Avenue.
What to Expect:

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for the entire duration of sewer main replacement.

Water line work is not expected to interrupt or shut off water service. 
Location and Time of Work:
  • Northside of Taraval Street between 46th – 44th Avenue and 40th - 37th Avenue
  • Southside of Taraval Street between 40th and 37th Avenue
  • Monday to Friday, 7:00a.m. to 5:00p.m.
Traffic Impacts: Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified in the northbound lane during active work. 
Muni Customer Impacts:
  • Continuing through Friday, January 24, the outbound L Taraval stop at 40th Avenue will be temporarily discontinued Monday to Friday from 7:30 am until 4:30pm. Muni riders should use alternative stop at 41st Avenue and Taraval during the listed hours on weekdays.
  • Continuing through Wednesday, January 22, the outbound L Taraval stop at 46th Avenue will be temporarily discontinued from 7:30am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. 

The following two-week construction forecast is subject to change due to weather delays or unexpected field conditions.
