L Taraval Improvement Project Work Forecast Mar. 9 - Mar. 20, 2020

Work Forecast Plan for the Weeks of March 9 to March 20, 2020

Details of Work Performed:
  • Continuation of sewer main replacement is planned for the weeks of:
    • March 9-13 and March 16-20 between 46th and 43rd Avenue (southside of Taraval)
    • March 9-13 between 43rd and 41st Avenue (southside)
    • March 9-13 and March 16-20 between 41st and 40th Avenue (southside)
  • Excavation of small exploratory holes to verify the locations of existing underground utilities is planned for March 17 between 38th and 37th Avenue (southside)
  • Continuation of waterline work is planned for the week of:
    • March 9-13 and March 16-20 between 40th and 37th Avenue (northside)
  • Night work for the connection of the waterline main is planned for Wednesday, March 18 at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Taraval.
What to Expect:

Excavation requires jackhammering of the pavement. Dust control measures will be in place to prevent dust kick up from the work.

Heavy vibrations from the shoring and sheet piling work is expected for open trench work.

Night work for the connection of the waterline main will require temporary interruption to water service on 46th Avenue between Taraval and Santiago Street from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Location and Time of Work:

  • Northside of Taraval Street between 46th – 37th Avenue.

    Southside of Taraval between 46th and 40th Avenue.

    Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  • Night work on Wednesday, March 18 at the intersection of 46th Avenue and Taraval from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
Traffic Impacts: Some parking will be temporarily restricted in construction zones and traffic lanes will be modified during active work. 
Muni Customer Impacts:
  • Continuing through Friday, March 20, the outbound L Taraval stop at 40th Avenue will be temporarily relocated to 41st Avenue from 7:00am until 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. 

The following two-week construction forecast is subject to change due to weather delays or unexpected field conditions.
