Service Change Summary

Beginning on Saturday, June 6, Muni is making service changes across San Francisco. These changes aim to improve reliability, reduce crowding and make trips more consistent for riders. These changes are based on rider feedback, operator input and service data. They are also being implemented in a cost-neutral way.  Some changes add service where ridership totals indicate it is needed. Others adjust stops and schedules that help Muni buses and trains run more smoothly. These service changes also save Muni operational costs without affecting riders. We are updating schedules on several routes to help reduce delays and improve spacing between buses and trains. Visit our blog post for additional information regarding these service changes.

Muni Service Changes

More Service Where Riders Need It
  • 5R Fulton Rapid: To reduce crowding, we are adjusting service. The schedule will change to shorten the gap between 5R buses.
  • 14 Mission and 14 Owl: To give riders more space, we are adding late-night trips between about 10:15 p.m. and 1:15 a.m.
