This Weekend: The Mission, Music & a Marathon

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Events:

This weekend will find music reverberating across the Bay and a colorful community bash in one of the city’s hippest neighborhoods. On Saturday, it’s the 26th annual Potrero Hill Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the 10 Townsend will have a re-route). On Sunday, the Nike’s Women’s Half Marathon will race from Union Square through Golden Gate Park up to the Presidio and finish along the Marina Green (numerous routes along the race course will be affected).

Treasure Island Music Festival
Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Treasure Island

Smack dab in the middle of the Bay, the Treasure Island Music Festival presents two days of music coupled with picture perfect views. Gathered from across the music spectrum, this year’s line-up will be showcased on two main stages plus two smaller venues, including a comedy stage. This year’s headlining performers are popular DJ act Deadmau5 and indie rock band, The National.

Due to limited parking, event shuttles will provide pick-up and drop-off service to and from the Bill Graham Civic Center. Music fans can also utilize Muni's 25 Treasure Island Route.

Muni service note: The 25 Treasure Island Route will have additional bus service for both days in operation from 10a.m. to 7p.m.

Sunday Streets
Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Mission District

Closing out the 2015 season with its eighth and final event, Sunday Streets returns to the Mission District for another round of great food, weather and vibrant energy. This weekend’s activities will take place along Valencia Street between 26th Street and McCoppin Plaza.

While most of Valencia Street will be closed to vehicles, cross traffic will be allowed at the intersections of Duboce Avenue, 14th, 16th, 18th and 24th streets.

Due to street closures, parking will be limited. Consider the F Market, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 14 Mission, 14R Mission Rapid, 27 Bryant, 33 Ashbury/18th Street, 48 Quintara/24th Street, 49 Mission/Van Ness, 55 16th Street and 67 Bernal Heights as public transportation alternatives.

Muni service note: The 12 Folsom/Pacific, 27 Bryant and 55 16th Street will have re-routes. Expect residual delays on all Muni service in the surrounding areas due to street closures and increased pedestrian traffic.

Construction Reminder:
The Muni Metro subway continues to close early each night at 9:30pm for system upgrades. Metro bus shuttles will operate between St. Francis Circle and Market and Spears streets from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
