Muni Subway Night Service Resumes

On Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, the Muni subway opened at night to resume the train service. From then on, all trains will be running through the subway during all hours of service from approximately 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. the next day. The bus shuttle service in place for the subway service has stopped operating between St. Francis Circle and Embarcadero Station.

The subway communications system upgrade projects, which closed the subway every night at 9:30 p.m. since July 2015, have finished the work that requires early shutdowns of the subway. The plan is to complete the rest of the work during non-revenue hours.
