L Taraval Improvement Forecast and Project Segment B Update - March 27 - April 8, 2023
In the coming weeks, work continues on water and sewer lines, as well as on the overhead contact system (OCS) that powers the trains. OCS work is now focused on foundation work to prepare for the installation of new poles. Construction teams will be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations. Materials are also being temporarily staged nearby. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations. Extreme weather conditions have impacted the construction schedule.
The inbound bus stop at Taraval and 15th has been relocated across the intersection until fall 2024.
General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. “No Parking” signs will be posted in construction and staging areas, and intersections may be closed to through traffic on Taraval Street. Please note that work hours are being temporarily extended during the week and there is upcoming weekend work scheduled. Construction work will be extended until 6:30 p.m. until March 31. Saturday work is scheduled for April 1.
Multiple agencies are performing infrastructure work in the area. This includes work by Public Works on 19th Avenue, Public Utilities Commission at Vicente and Wawona streets and PG&E along Taraval Street.

29th to 33rd avenues: water line work, excavating and shoring service laterals, backfill

33rd, 34th to 35th avenues: demolish and grade curb ramp, construct sidewalk and curb ramp

14th to 15th avenues: water line work, excavating and shoring
14th to Funston avenues: water line work, chlorinate and connect segments
14th Avenue and Ulloa Street: OCS foundation work
