Page Neighborway Open House

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 - 6:00pm

WHAT: Multi-Project Public Open House

WHERE: John Muir Elementary School (Webster Street between Page and Oak streets)

WHEN: Wednesday, March 15, 6pm-7:30pm

Please join staff from the SFMTA and Planning Department to learn more about two community-based proposals to improve the streets, sidewalks, and public places in the Lower Haight and Hayes Valley neighborhoods.

The Lower Haight Public Realm Plan, initiated by the Lower Haight community, is working to develop a community-based vision that will complement and enhance the neighborhood's public spaces. Two earlier workshops provided valuable feedback on the community's priorities for public realm improvements on Page Street (Divisidero to Market streets) and the Haight Street commercial core. This meeting will introduce focused concepts for these two main corridors.

Coordinated with the Lower Haight Public Realm Plan, the Page Street Neighborway (a related effort to the Octavia Boulevard Enhancement Project) is a capital project to make Page Street (from Webster to Market streets) a more walkable, bikeable, and sustainable corridor in Hayes Valley. The SFMTA is seeking feedback on a draft proposal for sidewalk widening, new bike facilities, traffic calming and potential circulation changes before scheduling a public hearing, presenting to the SFMTA Board of Directors for approval, and starting the project's detailed design phase.

Spanish language interpretation and child care services will be available. Persons planning to attend are encouraged to register at https://D5OpenHouse2.eventbrite.com to ensure sufficient materials and refreshments.
