L Taraval Improvement Project – Segment B
Project Update October 10 - 22, 2022
Work continues on water and sewer lines, as well as on the overhead contact system (OCS). OCS work is now focused on foundation work and installation of new poles. Construction teams will be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations. Materials are also being temporarily staged nearby. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations.
Monday, October 17 is the target date for the relocation of the bus stop location at 15th Avenue and Taraval Street from the southwest corner to the southeast corner, in front of Kelley-Moore Paints, 445 Taraval Street. The relocation will be until the end of construction after the new tracks are laid and the L Taraval rail service is reactivated, expected in fall 2024.
General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Night work below is italicized and takes place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. No parking signs will be posted in construction and staging areas, and intersections may be closed to through traffic on Taraval Street.
