L Taraval Improvement Project – Segment B

Project Update August 1-13, 2022

Work continues on water and sewer lines, as well as on the overhead contact system (OCS). OCS work will be performed at night and includes potholing, foundation work and installation of new poles. Construction teams will be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations from heavy equipment. Materials are also being staged nearby. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations. General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Night work below is italicized and takes place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. No parking signs will be posted in construction and staging areas, and intersections may be closed to through traffic on to Taraval Street.

The L Taraval Bus stop at the southwest corner of Taraval and 17th Avenue will be relocated to the southwest corner of Taraval and 16th Avenue between August 22 and September 2.

Multiple agencies in the area are performing infrastructure work. This includes Public Works on 19th Avenue, Public Utilities Commission at Vicente and Wawona streets and PG&E along Taraval Street. Night work is scheduled at Taraval and 19th Avenue.

19th Avenue: PUC water system connection

26th to 34th avenues: Sewer work, replace manhole and additional pipeline work, OCS work

15th to 35th avenues: OCS work, removal of existing and guy wires
