Summary

Starting Tuesday, February 21, Muni will launch a new weekday-only 1X California Express Route providing inbound (eastbound) service in the morning and outbound (westbound) service in the late-afternoon/early evening. This service will provide riders between 33rd Avenue and Arguello Boulevard with a quicker ride to and from downtown while also helping to relieve crowding on the 1 California east of Arguello. The new 1X, which is different from the currently suspended 1AX and 1BX routes, will provide three trips in each direction approximately every 30 minutes when in service.
