Better Market Street Construction: March 25 - April 6, 2024
Temporary, during all regular hours of service for impacted lines
Project Summary
From Monday, March 25 to Saturday, April 6, PG&E will be working on Market Street near the intersection of Golden Gate and Jones to complete vault work under the tracks to support future phases of the Better Market Street Project. This requires us to motorize -- replacing rail vehicles with buses -- the F Market & Wharves Line for its full route as the tracks will not be available for use by historic streetcars. We are also using this time to complete other work within the trackway, primarily on Market between 7th Street and the intersection of McAllister & Jones.
Service Change Details
As noted above, the F Market & Wharves Line will be serviced by buses for the duration of the work on Market Street. Muni passengers looking to ride the F Line will need to board buses that will say "F Market" on them, as no historic street cars will be able to operate along Market Street nor will they be able to access The Embarcadero portion of the line. It will also require some minor reroutes to the 5 Fulton, 5R Fulton Rapid and 19 Polk Muni routes. Service change details, by route, are available in the table below.
