Event Summary
As part of ongoing maintenance of the cable cars and their infrastructure, cable car maintenance will refurbish and reinstall all 21 sheaves (grooved wheels) that guide the underground cables and allow the cable cars to travel along their routes.Work at the Powell and Market turnaround will take place on Tuesday, April 28.

Muni Service Changes
The cable car lines will be broken up into the following four segments:
- California segment
- Hyde segment
- Mason segment
- Powell segment
When a segment is being worked on bus shuttles will provide service along that segment. At least one cable car line will remain open to the public during normal operating hours while sections are being upgraded.
