Muni Service Improvements: June 16, 2018

SFMTA is improving transit service throughout San Francisco by providing bigger buses, more capacity, and increased service! On June 16 we’re rolling out another round of Muni Forward service improvements to a number of routes throughout the city.

Summary of Service Improvements

N Judah/ K Ingleside/ T Third

Muni is adding more trains to your route to increase reliability and reduce crowding! Starting June 16, during the morning and evening peak hours, N Judah trains will increase frequency from 7 minutes to 6 minutes. K Ingleside and T Third trains will increase frequency from 8 minutes to 7 minutes.

1AX and 1BX Expresses

Bigger buses for more elbow room! Starting June 18, Muni is increasing bus sizes on the 1AX and 1BX Richmond Expresses to 60 foot buses to reduce crowding and make sure everyone has enough room.

8AX and 8BX Bayshore Expresses

We’re adding buses to your route! Starting June 18, Muni is adding service to improve performance time and reduce crowding. Additional buses will run during peak hours 6:30am-10:30am and 3:50-6:15pm.

9R San Bruno Rapid

Bigger buses for more elbow room! Starting June 18, Muni is increasing bus sizes on the 9R San Bruno Rapid to 60 foot buses to reduce crowding and make sure everyone has enough room.

5, 5R, 7, 38, 38R

Muni is moving to the new Salesforce Transit Center Bus Plaza! Starting June 18, the 5, 5R, 7, 38 and 38R will pick up customers at the new Transit Center Bus Plaza on Fremont Street, between Howard and Mission. For information about this change, see the Bus Plaza Tranit Update page.
