Super Bowl 50: Fan Options to SF Events

When it comes to getting to San Francisco’s Super Bowl 50 events — Super Bowl City Presented by Verizon across from the Ferry Building and the NFL Experience Driven by Hyundai at Moscone Center — fans have quite a few choices. (One of those choices should not be driving, if you can avoid it.)

The SB50 events at Justin Herman Plaza and Moscone Center will be just steps away from major transit hubs for Muni and our regional transit partners including BART, Caltrain, AC Transit, SamTrans, Golden Gate Transit and the SF Bay Ferry. With multiple street closures in effect, if at all possible avoid driving downtown.

If you’re riding Muni, be sure to check out the MuniMobile app. It lets you buy and save fares for multiple people on one phone, all in advance. That could help avoid some real headaches.

With thousands expected to flock to fun events like the free concerts at Super Bowl City, Muni will have extra subway service to help customers get home from Embarcadero Station. Don’t forget - the early nightly subway shutdowns for tunnel upgrades are over, and Muni Metro service runs until 1 a.m.

For events of this magnitude, it’s especially important to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time. Day-to-day event attendance and congestion levels may vary. We will have more than 30 extra street supervisors for Muni in the downtown area, more than 60 parking control officers during the morning and evening rush, as well as 20 - 40 customer service ambassadors on the streets to help respond to incidents and help folks get to where they're going safely.
