Holiday Lighted Boat Parade

Friday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Pier 39

A tradition since 1994, the Lighted Boat Parade has become a holiday staple along the city's northern waterfront. Members from the St. Francis Yacht Club, the Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Fleet, Pier 39 Marina and more join together in a parade of floating festive festoonery featuring holiday-themed decorations and of course, lights galore. Spectators can enjoy the parade views from Aquatic Park on Pier 39 as the boats set sail heading west toward Crissy Field before they return to their respective docks near Pier 39. As a bonus, the Fisherman's Wharf Fishing Fleet will remain lit throughout the entire holiday season.

How to Get There on Muni: Spectators can take the E Embarcadero or F Market and Wharves streetcar lines, the 8 Bayshore, 19 Polk, 22 Fillmore, 28 19th Avenue, 30 Stockton, 39 Coit, 43 Masonic, 47 Van Ness or 49 Van Ness/Mission routes to various points near the north waterfront.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.

24 Holidays on 24th Street

Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Noe Valley

Each day this month between December 1 through Christmas Eve (12/24), 24th Street in Noe Valley embraces the holiday spirit with its 24 Holidays on 24th Street event. During this nearly month-long celebration, merchant events and specials will be highlighted along with live entertainment and much more to create a festive atmosphere for the popular retail corridor. This Saturday will provide shoppers with an opportunity to have their photos taken with Rudolph and Santa before they have to head back north to prepare for their busy night on the 25th.

How to Get There on Muni: Riders can take the J Church Line, as well as the 24 Divisadero, or the 36 Eureka routes to the main retail area of 24th Street in Noe Valley.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.

Remember that you can take Muni the entire day for a single $5 fare. The new $5 Day Pass, available on MuniMobile®, is part of Muni’s recent fare changes. The pass is intended to encourage a safe, convenient way to pay your fare and quickly board Muni vehicles, which reduces overall travel time for everyone. The $5 Day Pass is Muni bus, rail and historic streetcars only.

“On Tap” gives you a heads up about the big events in town and what Muni routes and lines will get you to the party. Look for this feature to be posted usually on Thursdays for a look ahead to the weekend. Check out our Weekend Traffic & Transit Advisory for more details.
