Event Summary

The 2026 Pokémon World Championship will take place from August 28-30 at the Moscone Center and at Chase Center. There will be street closures and traffic detours in SoMa near the Moscone Center from Tuesday, August 19, through Tuesday, September 1. Muni service will not require any reroutes for the duration of the event, though some minor delays may be possible in the area.

Moscone Center Event Information

Street Closures (Moscone Center area)

Some streets near the Moscone Center will have either full or partial closures:

Full Closure

From Wednesday, August 19, at 6 a.m. to Tuesday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m.:

  • Howard between 3rd and 4th streets

From Tuesday, August 25, through Sunday, August 30, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily:

  • Minna between 4th Street and 500-feet west of 4th street

Partial Closures

From Wednesday, August 19, at 6 a.m. to Tuesday, September 1, at 6:30 p.m.:

  • Howard between Hawthorne and 3rd streets
  • 3rd Street between Folsom and Mission streets
  • Folsom between 3rd and 5th streets
  • 4th Street between and Howard and Folsom streets

From Wednesday, August 26, at 10 p.m. to Monday, August 31, at 4 a.m.:

  • Howard between 4th street and 500-feet west of 4th Street

A Taxi Zone is established on the east side of 3rd St between Mission and Howard.

Moscone Muni Service

Muni will use regular routing and regular bus stops on Stockton and on 4th St. Muni should not be impacted by the daily closures of 4th St. Use the Central Subway and take the T Third Street Line to Yerba Buena-Moscone Station.

Chase Center Event Information

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced:

Two hours before until one hour after each event

  • 16th Street between 3rd St and Terry Francois Blvd
  • Warriors Way between 3rd St and Terry Francois Blvd
  • Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th St will be local access only

Additional street closure 30 minutes before until 45 minutes after each event

  • Northbound 3rd Street between 16th St and Warriors Way

Chase Center Transit Information

Muni Event Day Service
  • The T Third Street line provides special event service between Chinatown-Rose Pak Station and UCSF/Chase Center.
    • Head signs on special event trains read “S Shuttle Mission Bay”
    • Shuttle service runs approximately every 10 minutes
  • The 22 Fillmore provides service to Chase Center and will continue to run according to its regular schedule.
  • The 78X 16th Street Arena Express will run express service between Chase Center and 16th St. Mission BART starting 2.5 hours before an event until 1 hour after the event.
  • The 48 Quintara and the 55 Dogpatch stop approximately four blocks from Chase Center.
Muni Owl Service
  • Muni Owl service is the late-night and early-morning bus network that serves San Francisco. It is part of the regional All-Nighter service with additional coverage of the East Bay and Peninsula from approximately 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • The 91 3rd Street/19th Avenue Owl stops at 3rd St & Warriors Way approximately every 30 minutes.
BART to Muni
Caltrain to Muni or Walk
  • Take Caltrain to San Francisco Station and transfer to the T Third Street at the platform on 4th St between King and Berry. Get off at UCSF/Chase Center (16th Street).
  • Caltrain's San Francisco Station is about a 15- to 20-minute walk to Chase Center.
  • Please keep Caltrain schedules in mind as Caltrain will not hold trains.

Taxi Zones

  • There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
  • Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warrior's Way at Bridgeview Way.

Bike Parking

The SFMTA bike network includes several routes to and from Mission Bay. PDF Map.

  • Free monitored self-park bike parking is located along 16th Street on the south side of Chase Center.
  • Bay Wheels Bike Share stations are available around Chase Center.
  • Overflow bike racks will be made available at the Bike Valet.
  • Bike racks will also be available on public sidewalks around the Chase Center and is a convenient option to also park your scooters.

Special Event Parking Rates

During games and other major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at Chase Center, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $8 per hour. Detour Map

Detours around Howard Street between Third and Fourth streets have been set up for vehicles and bicycles.

Vehicles can use either Mission Street or Harrison Street (blue/purple) while bicyclists can use Market Street (green).
