Cole Valley Nights
Thursday, March 19: Cole Valley Night Market event will take place in the western neighborhood on Cole Street between Carl Street and Parnassus streets. Event hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 19. For more details visit sunsetmercantilesf.com
A street closure of Cole Street from Parnassus Avenue to Frederick Street will be required from noon to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 19.
The following Muni routes will be affected: 37 Corbett and 43 Masonic.
Castro Night Market
Friday, March 20: The Castro Night Market will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. on 18th and Castro streets. For more details, visit castro-night-market.
The following street and parking lot closures will be required from 11 a.m., Friday, March 20 to 1 a.m., Saturday, March 21:
- 18th Street between Collingwood and Hartford streets
- The SFMTA parking lot behind Walgreens
The 33 Ashbury/18th Street Muni route will be affected.
Tulip Day
Saturday, March 21: Tulip Day, an annual event where Union Square Plaza gets blanketed with more than 80,000 tulips in partnership with the Dutch Consulate, City of San Francisco and the Alliance. Event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 21. An attendance of 30,000 is expected. For more event details, visit https://flowerbulbday.com.
To facilitate guest access to this event, a street closure of Post Street between Mason and Stockton streets will be required from 5 p.m., Friday, March 20 to 11:59 p.m., Saturday, March 21.
The 2 Sutter Muni route will be impacted.
San Francisco Giants Exhibition Games and Opening Series
Monday, March 23 through Tuesday, March 24: San Francisco Giants will play their exhibition games against the Sultanes de Monterrey at the ballpark. Both games will start at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, March 23 and on Tuesday, March 24.
Wednesday, March 25 through Saturday, March 28: The San Francisco Giants will begin the 2026 season at home against the New York Yankees. Listed below are start times for these games: 1) 5:05 p.m., Wednesday, March 25; 2) 1:35 p.m., Friday, March 27; and 3) 4:15 p.m., Saturday, March 28.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:
- Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
- From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
- Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.
Taxi Stands
- 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
- 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
- 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street
Special Event Parking Rates
During baseball games and other major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the ballpark, parking meters close to the ballpark will charge a special event rate of $12 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the ballpark, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Event at Chase Center
Wednesday, March 25: The Warriors will host a home game against the Brooklyn Nets. Game will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Muni will provide supplement 78X Arena Express service:
- Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
- Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center on 16th Street to 16th Street BART Station will run until the clears.
Special Event Parking Rates

Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
No Parking Zone
To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)
Taxi Stands
There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
Other pickup/drop-off locations near Chase Center
- 4th Street, which connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.
- Owens Street, which also connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.

CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES
UPDATE: San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Joint Rehabilitation Project
To facilitate the project, there are ramp closures scheduled throughout the project.
Eastbound I‑80 SFOBB On‑Ramp Nightly Closures
Caltrans is implementing temporary eastbound I‑80 on‑ramp closures to the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge during Thursday through Sunday nighttime hours. Detours will be clearly posted, motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible.
The First Street On‑Ramp onto eastbound I-80 will be closed overnight between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., the next morning. Closures are scheduled for: 1) Tuesday, March 17 to Thursday, March 19; 2) Tuesday, March 24 to Thursday, March 26; 3) Tuesday, April 7 to Thursday, April 9; and 4) and April 13-16.
The Essex and Transit Ramp onto eastbound I-80 will be closed overnight between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., the next morning. Closures are scheduled for: 1) Tuesday, March 24 to Thursday, March 26; 2) Tuesday, March 31 to Thursday, April 2; 3) Tuesday, April 7 to Thursday, April 9; and 4) Monday, April 13 to Thursday, April 16.

UPDATE: Caltrans Work—04-4K1104 (19th Avenue)
Phase 1 (Concrete Parking Strip Work) was completed. The contractor will demobilize and will return in spring 2026 to perform paving work.

UPDATE: Caltrans Work—04-1Q802 US101 (Hospital Curve)
This construction project will be closing on and off-ramps to restripe US-101 ahead of storm drainage improvements scope of this project.
Below are schedules of upcoming full weekend closures:
Friday, March 20 through Monday, March 23
- Northbound and Southbound US 101: Two lanes will be closed in each direction between Candlestick Park and Silver Avenue from late night, Friday March 20 until early morning, Monday, March 23.
Friday, April 10 through Monday, April 13
- Northbound and Southbound US 101: Two lanes will be closed in each direction between Candlestick Park and Silver Avenue from late night Friday, April 10 until early morning, Monday April 13.

UPDATE: Bridge Rehabilitation of Central (US 101) and Bayshore (I-80) Viaducts
The Bridge Rehabilitation of the Central (US-101) and Bayshore (1-80) Viaducts is a vital project to strengthen and rehabilitate the viaducts which are 71-years old. To facilitate the project, ramp closures are scheduled throughout the project.
Below is information with closure schedules:
Saturday, March 28 to Sunday, March 29
- Eastbound I-80: A 12-hour full closure from 17th Street to 4th Street beginning in the evening of Saturday, March 28 and ending in the morning of Sunday, March 29.
From Friday, April 10 to Monday, April 13
- Eastbound I-80 Off Ramp at 4th Street: Closure from late night Friday, April 10 until early morning, Monday, April 13.
From Friday, April 17 to Monday, April 20
- Eastbound I-80: A 55-hour full closure from 17th Street to 4th Street beginning in the evening of Friday, April 17 and ending in the morning of Monday, April 20.

ONGOING: Transbay Howard Streetscape Project – Road Construction
Feb. 2026 through 2028: As a part of the Transbay Howard Streetscape Project, new safety upgrades, traffic signal infrastructure, landscaping and a protected two-way bicycle lane are being built on Howard Street between The Embarcadero and 4th Street.
Due to work at multiple sites, expect intermittent delays and lane closures on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drivers should exercise caution near construction zones, follow posted detour signage, and consider using alternate routes. During major events and conventions, work will be paused near Moscone Center.

ONGOING: SFPUC Geary Boulevard Sewer and Water Replacements
Now until 2027: Replacement work of sewer and water lines is currently taking place along Geary Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and Stanyan Street. Due to construction work at multiple locations, some of the bus stops for Muni routes 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid will be temporarily relocated nearby. Riders should look for orange signage at impacted bus stops.
