Visitacion Valley Night Market
Friday, Sept. 25: The Visitacion Valley Night Market and Block Party will take place, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. This event will take place on Leland Avenue between Bayshore Boulevard and Peabody Street. For event details visit https:///allmyusos.org.
A closure of Leland Avenue between Peabody Street and Bay Shore Boulevard will be required from noon to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25.
The 56 Rutland Muni route will be impacted.
Sunset Night Market: Autumn Moon Festival
Friday, Sept. 25: The Sunset Night Market is a free, all-ages street events featuring food and retail vendors, kids’ activities, local music and performances. The event will take place on Irving Street between 19th and 26 avenues, from 5 to 10 p.m. and will repeat on Friday, Dec. 11.
The following street closures will be required from noon to 11:59 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25:
- Irving Street between 20th and 25th avenues
- 24th Avenue between Lincoln Way and Judah Street
- 21st Avenue between Lincoln Way and Judah Street
- Intersections close: 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th avenues on Irving Street
The intersections at 20th and 25th avenues on Irving Street will remain open. Only local access will be allowed on 22nd and 23rd avenues between Lincoln Way and Judah Street.
There will be no impact on Muni service.
San Francisco Giants Games
Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27:The San Francisco Giants will play three games at the ballpark. Listed below are times for these games:
- Three games against the Los Angeles Dodgers: a) 7:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25; b) 1:05 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26; and c) 12:05 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:
- Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after first pitch until the seventh inning.
- From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
- Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.
Taxi Stands
- 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
- 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
- 3rd Street, east side, north of King Street
Special Event Parking Rates
During baseball games and other major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the ballpark, parking meters close to the ballpark will charge a special event rate of $13 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the ballpark, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Portola Music Festival
Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27: Portola Music Festival is a 2-day music festival taking place at Pier 80. Concerts will be on four stages from 1 to 11 p.m., each day, Saturday and Sunday. Expected attendance is 45,000 participants. For event details visit portolamusicfestival.com.
The following street closures will be required:
From 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, to 1 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28
- Cesar Chavez Street between 3rd Street and eastern terminus
- Marin Street between 3rd Street and eastern terminus
- Michigan Street between Cesar Chavez and Marin streets
- Illinois Street between Amador and 24th streets
- 25th Street between 3rd and Michigan streets (only Muni buses will be allowed)
8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 to 1 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 27; and
8 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27, to 1 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28
- 3rd Street between Cargo Way and 23rd Street (only Muni buses will be allowed)
- Cesar Chavez Street between Minnesota and 3rd streets
- 23rd and 24th streets between 3rd and Illinois streets
- Illinois Street between 22nd and 24th streets
Due to increased ridership for the event, concert patrons should allow extra travel time. Traffic in the area will also be heavy.
Temporary Taxi Stand
There will be temporary taxi stand on Cesar Chavez Street, north side, between Minnesota and Tennessee streets.
There will be no impact on Muni service.
Folsom Street Fair
Sunday, Sept. 27: The annual Folsom Street Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For event details visit www.folsomstreet.org.
The following street closures will be required from 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26 to 5 a.m., Monday, Sept. 28:
- Folsom Street between 8th and 13th streets
- 9th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 10th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 11th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- 12th Street between Howard and Harrison streets
- All alleys and intersections bounded by 8th, Howard, 13th and Harrison streets
With support and assistance from Folsom Street Fair staff, vehicles that need to get through event space to access garages and lots, local access to off-street parking within the event footprint will be maintained.
Traffic around the event area will be heavily congested. Motorists are advised to stay away from the event area and areas where street closures are enforced.
For northbound traffic, please use Harrison Street, travel to 13th Street and to Duboce Avenue. For southbound traffic, please use Octavia Boulevard for US101 South Freeway.
The following Muni routes will be affected: 9 San Bruno; 12 Folsom/Pacific; 19 Polk; 27 Bryant; and 90 San Bruno OWL.
Taxi Stand
For pick up and drop off only, there will be a limited number of temporary taxi stands for the event on both northwest and southwest sides of 8th and Folsom streets.
There will be one taxi stand located on 298 7th Street, south side corner of 7th and Folsom streets.
Event at Chase Center
Saturday, Sept. 26: The Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire event will take place. The show will start at 7:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Muni will provide supplement 78X Arena Express service:
- Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
- Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center to 16th Street BART Station will run until the crowd clears.
Special Event Parking Rates

Street Closures

- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.
Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
No Parking Zone
To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)
Taxi Stands
- There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
- Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
Other pickup/drop-off locations near Chase Center
- 4th Street, which connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.
- Owens Street, which also connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.

Cole Valley Fair
Sunday, Sept. 27: The 23rd annual Cole Valley Fair will take place on Cole Street between Frederick and Grattan streets and on Parnassus Avenue between Shrader and Belvedere streets. Event hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For event details visit https://sunsetmercantilesf.com/colevalleyfair/
The following street closures will be required from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 27:
- Cole Street between Frederick and Grattan streets
- Parnassus Avenue between Belvedere and Shrader streets
- Intersection of Cole Street and Parnassus Avenue
The following Muni routes will be affected: 6 Hayes/Parnassus; 37 Corbett; 43 Masonic and N Judah Bus.
Noe Valley Night Market
Tuesday, Sept. 29: The Noe Valley Night Market will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event will take place on 24th Street. between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets. For event details visit noemerchants.com.
A closure of 24th Street. between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets will be required from 2 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29. All intersections will remain open.
The 48 Quintara/24th Street Muni route will be impacted.
CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES
UPDATE: Potrero Yard Modernization Project
Now until 2030: Muni’s Potrero Yard Modernization Project is replacing an obsolete, century-old bus yard at 2500 Mariposa Street with a modern, four-story bus maintenance and storage facility. Construction has now begun and will run through 2030. Work hours are between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overnight work is anticipated to be intermittent, work hours will be from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Expect temporary lane shifts around the project site bounded by Mariposa, Bryant, 17th and Hampshire streets. Signage and cones will be in place to clearly mark and section off work zones. People traveling are advised to use caution and look out for changing traffic patterns. Temporary parking restrictions will be necessary in active work zones.
Thursday, Sept. 24 through Wednesday, Sept. 30: Overhead wire removal work will be conducted during night hours, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. This work will create temporary lane shifts at intersections around the site (Hampshire at 17th streets; Hampshire at Mariposa streets; Bryant at Mariposa streets and Bryant at 17th streets) and along Hampshire Street.

UPDATE: Caltrans Project 04-1Q8204 US 101 Hospital Curve Pave and Median Contract
Friday, Oct. 16 through Monday, Oct. 19: Caltrans contractors will fully close Southbound US-101 between 9th Street/Civic Center exit and Cesar Chavez Street exit. Southbound I-280 via 6th Street and Southbound Potrero are alternate routes during this work. More details to follow.
Caltrans contractors will deploy traffic control personnel and message boards will be in place in advance of the closures. SFMTA Parking Control Officers will be assisting along critical points along detour routes to help facilitate traffic congestion. Motorists are advised to take other modes of transportation to travel in and out of San Francisco over these weekends. UPDATE: EA 04-2X7601 SR-35 Pavement Preservation Project
Week of Sept. 7 through Mid-October: Caltrans Pavement Preservation project has finished paving SR-35 Skyline Boulevard from Sloat Boulevard to the San Francisco/San Mateo County line.

UPDATE: Caltrans I-80 San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge
Structural Steel Painting and Spall Repairs Project
Caltrans project is installing a temporary bridge installation platform (Safe Span) on the upper portion of the lower deck of the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge (SFOBB). This work requires overnight staggered lane closures of eastbound I-80 from the San Francisco Anchorage/Rincon Hill to the Yerba Buena Island Tunnel, leaving at least one lane open for the traveling public. All lanes will reopen each morning. Lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, most nights through Oct. 2026. The hours and number of lanes will adjust in response to late-night event traffic.
Listed below are schedules of lane reduction. Hours and number of lanes will be adjusted as needed in response to late-night event traffic:
- Lane 1 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Lanes 1 and 2 will be closed from 11 p.m to 7 a.m.
- Lanes 1, 2 and 3 will be closed from 12 to 6 a.m.
- Lanes 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be closed from 1 to 5 a.m.
- On Thursday nights Lane 4 will be closed at 2 a.m.

UPDATE: EA 04-0Q120 I-280 Farallones Street Pedestrian Overcrossing and Rehabilitation Project
Caltrans I-280 paving and pedestrian bridge replacement project contractor will be paving segments of the freeway. Caltrans will close two lanes in both the north and southbound direction between US-101 and the pedestrian bridge crossing at Farallones Street overnight and weekends. Additional details will be shared as they are available.

ONGOING: Overnight Work Along the T-Third
Sept. to Oct. 2026: Building on the success of the T-Third Fix-It! Weekends. The SFMTA is launching a proactive maintenance program to improve conditions and cleanliness along the T-Third corridor between Evans and Sunnydale stations.
Maintenance activities are tentatively scheduled from Sept. through Oct. 2026. To minimize impacts on riders and the surrounding community, work will take place during overnight hours from midnight to 5 a.m. Owl service will not be affected, and access to businesses and residences will be maintained throughout the construction.
As part of this effort, SFMTA crews will perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and facility improvements at T-Third platforms on Third Street between Evans and Sunnydale stations. This work supports the agency’s ongoing commitment to keeping Muni facilities clean, safe, and in good condition for riders and the surrounding community.
ONGOING: Castro Station Accessibility Improvement Project
Construction of the new elevator at Castro Station is wrapping up and once completed will provide continuous accessible access to the Castro Station. Until then, please continue to use the escalator on the north side for accessibility to the station.

ONGOING: 13th Street Safety Project
Now until 2027: The 13th Street Safety Project is currently under construction to deliver new traffic safety improvements on 13th Street and Duboce Avenue between Folsom and Valencia streets, including protected bike lanes, sidewalk extensions, traffic signal upgrades, accessibility upgrades, sewer upgrades, repaving, and parking/loading changes.
San Francisco Public Works is installing curb ramps and traffic islands on 13th Street at the US-101 Highway Off-Ramp. The next phase of construction work is expected to result in delayed travel time when exiting the Mission Street/Duboce Avenue freeway off-ramp.
Construction is underway and will continue for approximately four weeks. The work hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). However, traffic control barricades and lane reductions will remain in place after hours until work is completed.
During construction, temporary lane reconfigurations will be delineated. Existing traffic flow shall be maintained for the through lane to Duboce Avenue and right turn lane to Mission Street. Muni riders should follow posted signage for any temporary bus stop relocations.

ONGOING: Transbay Howard Streetscape Project – Road Construction
Feb. 2026 through 2028: As a part of the Transbay Howard Streetscape Project, new safety upgrades, traffic signal infrastructure, landscaping and a protected two-way bicycle lane are being built on Howard Street between The Embarcadero and 4th Street.
Due to work at multiple sites, expect intermittent delays and lane closures on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Drivers should exercise caution near construction zones, follow posted detour signage, and consider using alternate routes. During major events and conventions, work will be paused near Moscone Center.

ONGOING: SFPUC Geary Boulevard Sewer and Water Replacements
Now until 2027: Replacement work of sewer and water lines is currently taking place along Geary Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and Stanyan Street. Due to construction work at multiple locations, some of the bus stops for Muni routes 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid will be temporarily relocated nearby. Riders should look for orange signage at impacted bus stops.
UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION
Caltrans Project 04-0Q020 US-101 Central Viaduct and I-80 Bayshore Viaduct Contract
Friday, Oct. 2 to Monday, Oct. 5: Caltrans project will conduct a 55-hour full closure of the Central SB 101 connector and the 10th Street on-ramp. Caltrans will close the connection to the southbound US-101 freeway. Traffic entering the Central Freeway from Octavia Boulevard and South Van Ness Avenue will be able to continue onto eastbound I-80. Traffic seeking to get to southbound US-101 will need to use alternate routes such as Harrison Street, westbound I-80, I-280 and surface streets.
Friday, Oct. 23 to Monday, Oct. 26: Caltrans project will conduct a full closure of westbound I 80 between 4th Street and the US-101 / I-80 interchange. Detours and alternate routes will be established, signed and messaged. More details to follow.
