The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) releases the following upcoming event-related traffic and transit impacts for this week from Thursday, Oct. 23 through Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025.

Event at Chase Center

Thursday, Oct. 23 through Tuesday, Oct. 28: There will be multiple events to be held at the Chase Center:

  • Thursday, Oct. 23: The Warriors will host the home opener game against the Denver Nuggets. Game will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Oct. 27:  The Warriors will host a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Game will begin at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28:  The Warriors will host a home game against the LA Clippers. Game will begin at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Muni will provide supplement 78X Arena Express service:

  • Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
  • Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center on 16th Street to 16th Street BART Station will run until the clears.

Special Event Parking Rates

During basketball games and other area major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the arena, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $12 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the arena, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Start times for special event rates vary based on the start time of the event. More information on special event parking regulations can be found on www.sfmta.com/special-event-parking.

Street Closures

To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:

  1. 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  2. Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  3. Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after the event.

Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.

No Parking Zone

To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:

  • 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
  • Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)

Taxi Stands

There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.

Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.

Other pickup/drop-off locations near Chase Center

  • 4th Street, which connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.
  • Owens Street, which also connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.

Bhangra and Beats Night Market

Friday, Oct. 24: A dance party and social event will take place in the vicinity of Battery and Clay streets from 5 to 10 p.m. For more details, visit bhangraandbeats.com.

The following street closures will be required from noon, Friday, Oct. 24 to 2 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 25:

  • Front Street between California and Clay streets
  • Sacramento Street between Davis and Battery streets
  • Halleck Street between Front and Battery streets
  • Intersections Closed: Front and Sacramento streets; and Front and Halleck streets

The following Muni routes will be rerouted: 1 California (outbound only); 1X California Express; and 12 Folsom-Pacific (inbound only).

St. Jude Pilgrimage

Saturday, Oct. 25: The Annual Pilgrimage of St. Jude Thaddeus is a yearly procession of Catholic faithful. This year’s procession will be from St. Philip’s Church to St. Dominic Church, home of the Shrine of Saint Jude. The procession will start at 10 a.m. from Diamond Street at Elizabeth Street, going north, then right turn on Elizabeth Street, right turn on Church Street, left turn on 24th Street, left on Guerrero Street to Laguna Street, left turn on Sutter Street and right turn onto Steiner Street where procession will disband. The procession is approximately 3.7 miles. For more information visit https://stjude-shrine.org.

There is no planned street closure.

Streets along the procession route may be congested which could impact Muni bus service in the area. SFPD officers and Parking Control Officers will monitor the march.

Treasure Island Concert

Saturday, Oct. 25: The British DJ and producer Cloonee will perform on Treasure Island at the San Francisco Gaelic Athletic Association fields. Performance will begin at 1 p.m. and will end at approximately 9 p.m., Saturday

A street closure of Avenue “H” between 11th and 13th streets will be required from 12:01 a.m. to 11:50 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25.

The 25 Treasure Island Muni route will be affected.

Noe Valley Night Market

Tuesday, Oct. 28: The Noe Valley Night Market will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event will take place on 24th Street. between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets. For event details visit noemerchants.com.

A closure of 24th Street. between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets will be required from 2 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28. All intersections will remain open.

The 48 Quintara/24th Street Muni route will be impacted.

CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES

NEW: Caltrans Work—04-1Q802 US101 (Hospital Curve)

This construction project will be upgrading drainage along US101 between Cesar Chavez Street and the interchange of US-101/I-80. Two of three traffic lanes will be closed as listed:

  • Daily closure: From 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. to the next day, Monday through Friday
  • Weekend closure: From 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next day, Saturday and Sunday

Caltrans crews will begin this project in late Oct. 2025.

Signage will be placed in advance of these closures and detour routes. For project information, visit San Francisco US-101 Rehabilitation and advisory of the project.

NEW: Caltrans Work—04-4K1104 (19th Avenue)

The construction project will be reconstructing the parking strip on Northbound Highway 1 (19th Avenue) between Holloway Avenue and Lincoln Way. The right traffic lane will be closed for up to two blocks at a time, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Monday to Friday.

Caltrans crews will begin this project in late Oct. 2025.

NEW: Caltrans Work—04-0X5804 I280 and US-101

Tuesday, Oct. 28 through Thursday, Oct. 30: To facilitate Caltrans construction work to install signage and striping, the following on and off ramp closures will be required as listed:

  • Northbound 280 Off Ramp to Mariposa Street  will be closed from 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28 to 6 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29
  • Southbound 280 Off Ramp to 18th Street will be closed from 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28 to 6 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29
  • Southbound 280 Off Ramp to John Daly Boulevard will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29
  • Northbound 280 Off Ramp to Geneva Street will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30
  • Southbound 280 Off Ramp to San Jose Avenue will be closed from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30
  • Northbound 280 Off Ramp to Geneva Street will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30
  • Southbound 280 Off Ramp to Monterey Boulevard will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30

Unless there is any change of work plans by Caltrans crews, this construction work will take place as listed. Signage will be placed in advance of these closures and detour routes.

NEW: Parnassus Avenue Water Project

Monday, Oct. 27 to Thursday, Oct. 30: Contractor, Bassett Engineering, will repave Parnassus Avenue. Below are work schedules:

  • Monday, Oct. 27 and Wednesday, Oct. 29: Work will take place on Parnassus Avenue between Stanyan and Arguello Boulevard.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 30: Work will take place on Parnassus Avenue from Arguello Boulevard to Judah Street and to 6th Avenue.

Grinding work is scheduled on Monday and Tuesday with paving to take place on Wednesday and Thursday. Work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

During construction,

  • Bus stops will temporarily be closed;
  • All access on Parnassus Avenue will be maintained to UC hospital/campus facilities and building projects.

Tuesday, Oct. 28 and Wednesday, Oct. 29: Eastbound Parnassus Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Willard and Stanyan streets during hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. During construction hours, eastbound travel will only allow Muni buses, other eastbound through will be detoured.

Personnel from the SFMTA and SF Public Works will be onsite for assistance.

ONGOING

ONGOING: Sewer Replacement and Street Reconstruction in the Wharf Area

Now through Mid-October: As part of this work, bus stops will be relocated and some bus lines will be rerouted. The work area is Powell Street between Jefferson and North Point streets, and, on North Point Street between Mason and Powell streets. The following Muni routes will be impacted by the construction work:

  • The 39 Coit: Some stops will be relocated

UPDATE: SFPUC Geary Boulevard Sewer and Water Replacements

Now until 2027: Replacement work of sewer and water lines is currently taking place along Geary Boulevard between 32nd Avenue and Stanyan Street. Due to construction work at multiple locations, some of the bus stops for Muni routes 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid will be temporarily relocated nearby. Riders should look for orange signage at impacted bus stops.
