Penny Pitch Charity Event
Friday, May 9: St. Anthony Foundation will be holding their 47th Annual Pitch and Raffle in the North Beach. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more details, visit www.stanthonysf.org.
A street closure of Stockton Street between Filbert and Union streets will be closed from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. will be required.
The 39 Coit Muni route will be rerouted.
Dogpatch Spring Market
Saturday, May 10: The Dogpatch Spring Market on 22nd Street will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a free event with live music and local vendors.
A street closure of 22nd Street between 3rd and Illinois streets will be required from 8.am. to 7.p.m. on Saturday.
The 48 Quintara/24th Street Muni route will be rerouted.
Larkin Street Roadway Shared Space
Saturday, May 10: The Tenderloin Lower Polk Merchants and Property Owners Association will host their monthly Roadway Shared Space on Larkin Street.
Larkin Street between Eddy and O’Farrell streets will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday.
These closures will occur on the second Saturday of every month through Saturday, May 10. For details visit www.tlmpa.org.
The 19 Polk Muni route will be rerouted.
Event at Chase Center
There will be basketball games to take place at the Chase Center:
- Saturday, May 10: The Warriors’ Play Off Game Three against the Minnesota Timberwolves will take place. The game will start at 5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m.
- Monday, May 12: The Warriors’ Play Off Game Four against the Minnesota Timberwolves will take place. The game will start at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Supplemental Muni Service
- Muni will operate supplemental 78X Arena Express service.
- Pre-event express shuttle service from 16th Street BART Station to Chase Center will start two and a half hours before each game/event and will end one hour after game/event starts.
- Post-event express shuttle service from Chase Center on 16th Street to 16th Street BART Station will run until the clears.
Special Event Parking Rates
During basketball games and other area major events with more than 10,000 expected attendees at the arena, parking meters close to the arena will charge a special event rate of $11 per hour. These rates help reduce congestion and keep parking spots available in the neighborhoods near the arena, discouraging circling for free or cheap parking. Start times for special event rates vary based on the start time of the event. More information on special event parking regulations can be found on www.sfmta.com/special-event-parking.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the arena, the following street closures will be enforced two hours before and one hour after each event:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Northbound 3rd Street between 16th Street and Warriors Way will also be closed approximately 30 minutes before and 45 minutes after an event.
- Only local access will be allowed on Northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th streets.
No Parking Zone
To facilitate loading and pick up for Muni customers and patrons, NO PARKING will be in effect at these locations during events:
- 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Warriors Way between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard
- Between the 500 and 700 blocks of Terry Francois Boulevard (TFB)
Taxi Stands
There is one taxi stand located on southbound Terry Francois Boulevard.
Ramp Taxis should use the loading zone on eastbound Warriors Way at Bridgeview Way.
Other pickup/drop-off locations near Chase Center
- 4th Street, which connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.
- Owens Street, which also connects to Chase Center via the Gene Friend Way pedestrian path on the UCSF campus.

San Francisco Giants Baseball Game
Monday, May 12 through Wednesday, May 14: The San Francisco Giants will play three games at the ballpark. Listed below are start times for these games:
- Three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks: 1) 6:45 p.m., Monday, May 12; 2) 6:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 13; and 3) 12:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 14.
Street Closures
To accommodate events that will take place at the ballpark, the following street closures will be enforced:
- Two and a half hours before the opening pitch, the SFMTA will close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic. King Street will reopen after the first pitch until the seventh inning.
- From the seventh inning until post-game traffic dies down, the SFMTA will again close eastbound King Street between 3rd and 2nd streets to vehicle traffic in order to reduce congestion on city streets.
- Additionally, the northbound portion of the 4th Street Bridge (Peter R. Maloney Bridge) will be closed to all traffic except Muni, taxis and bicycles during the post-game period.

- 2nd Street, west side, between Brannan and King Streets
- 2nd Street, east side, between Townsend and King Streets
- 3rd Street, west side, north of King Street

CONSTRUCTION WORK AND OTHER UPDATES
NEW: San Francisco Small Business Week
Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9: “Rising Together”, the theme for the 2025 San Francisco Small Business Week, emphasizes the importance of building a strong community among small businesses to foster long-term sustainability and success. NEW: Fix It! Week, Early closures for Muni Subway Maintenance
Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9 (Fix It! Week): Early subway closures are planned to begin on Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9. The subway between Embarcadero and West Portal will close early at 9:30 p.m. until midnight nightly to allow for maintenance work to improve the reliability and performance of the Muni Metro system. Owl service will remain unchanged. Trains will resume regular service every morning.
Muni’s service plan during the early shutdowns (Fix It! Week), 9:30 p.m. to midnight nightly, Monday, May 5 through Friday, May 9 will be as follows:
- KLM Bus Shuttle will serve all Muni Metro stops between Steuart &Market streets and St. Francis Circle. Customers should board bus shuttles at bus stops marked with “JKLMN Metro Bus Sub”.
- N Judah Bus will serve between Duboce/Church and Caltrain.
- J and N trains will operate as a combined "interlined" route between Balboa Park and Ocean Beach for both directions with a switchover at Church/Duboce:
- J Church trains will continue to Ocean Beach as N Judah
- N Judah train will continue to Balboa Park as J Church
- N Judah Bus will serve curbside stops between Duboce & Church and Caltrain
- K and M trains will operate between Balboa Park and St. Francis Circle.
- L Taraval will operate as a bus substitution between West Portal and Wawona/46th. The L Buses will use the regular L Taraval train stops for boarding and drop-off.
- T Third train will run its regular schedule between Sunnydale and Chinatown.
Longer closure hours will allow crews to perform deeper and more thorough inspections, as well as tackle larger projects that are difficult to complete during standard service shutdowns. UPDATED: Valencia Street Bikeway Improvements
The new side-running bike lanes on Valencia Street are open. Over the next two weeks, there are a few remaining punch list items for crews to finish.

Masks are no longer required, but are encouraged in any SFMTA facilities, transit hubs or on vehicles including Muni buses, streetcars, light rail vehicles or cable cars or in taxis or on paratransit.
ONGOING: Castro Elevator Accessibility Improvement Project
Monday, April 21 and continuing through Monday, May 19, Castro Station south escalator will be out of commission for two and a half weeks to accommodate construction activities for the Castro Elevator Accessibility Improvement project.
The concrete walkway and lamp replacement work will temporarily block access to the escalator on the south side of the station. During this time, Muni customer should utilize the escalator on the north side for accessibility to the station.

ONGOING: Cable Car Sheaves Upgrade Project
Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 18, crews will be restoring the cable car system sheaves, which are massive, grooved wheels that guide the underground cables through specialized pulley systems.
These upgrades will take place from Tuesday, Feb. 18and will continue through May 2025. During this work,
- there will be occasional closures of individual cable car segments;
- bus shuttles will replace cable car lines where work is being done;
- at least one cable car route will remain open to the public during normal operating hours while sections are being upgraded.

ONGOING: Essential Trip Card Discount Program
The SFMTA’s program, Essential Trip Card (ETC) Program, assists people with disabilities and older adults to make essential trips using taxis. The program provides two to three round trips at an 80% discount per month, i.e. rider pays $6 to receive a value of $30 or pays $12 to receive a $60 value. If essential needs require it, riders may receive additional value up to $120 of taxi service per month.
To qualify for the program, customer must be either age 65 or older or an adult with disabilities. Eligible adults may apply for the ETC program by calling the Paratransit Mobility Management office at 415-351-7053.
