Work to install new rails, boarding islands, boarding ramps and curb ramps continues throughout the corridor. The work zone on Taraval between 19th and 22nd avenues is anticipated to have restricted parking until February 23, after which some parking is expected to be released. The last track activation between 33rd and Sunset Blvd has started.

General construction hours are Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Construction schedules are subject to change. “No Parking” signs will be posted in construction and staging areas. Construction teams will be excavating and jackhammering pavement, which may cause vibrations. Dust control and housekeeping measures are in place at active construction and staging locations.

Multiple agencies are performing infrastructure work in the area, including Public Works on 19th Avenue, Public Utilities Commission at Vicente and Wawona streets and PG&E along Taraval Street.

Please note the following impacts to travel during track work:

By car: Taraval Street is open east- and westbound. Vehicles approaching areas with active track installation will only be able to make right turns onto Taraval. At times, traffic may be stopped briefly.
By bus: The L Bus may be rerouted around active construction.
On foot: Pedestrians will be able to cross Taraval Street in the construction area via pedestrian bridge, currently at 21st Avenue after 4 p.m. and weekends.

15th to19th avenues: construct bulb-out, reconstruct sidewalk, curb ramp, boarding platforms
19th to 22nd avenues: track area, install tracks, pour and form foundation, street base work, ADA compliant boarding island

Ulloa Street

Forest Side to 15th Avenue: track work, sidewalk and driveway reconstruction

Night work from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday

Ulloa Street between 15th thru Forest Side Street: OCS prep work for installation, removing and reconstructing existing poles, upgrade the Overhead Contact System (OCS) that powers the trains. Work on any given block will vary and is expected to take a few hours to a few days per location. OCS work is expected to be complete June 2024.
