Making Muni Cleaner and Safer
The SFMTA has worked hard to improve riders’ experiences, earning our highest approval ratings ever. And we know there is still more we can do.
We’ve heard from riders through 311, surveys, focus groups, and other channels. In response, we’re testing a two-week pilot on the 14 Mission to make Muni cleaner and safer. After, we will review what we learned to make improvements customers really notice.
September 29 – October 9: Customer Experience Pilot
What to Expect on the 14 Mission
Ambassadors on Board: Staff will ride the 14 Mission to monitor conditions, talk with riders, answer questions and help address issues. While operators focus on running the vehicle safely, our ambassadors will provide extra support onboard.
Cleaning Crews on Call: A mobile team will be stationed on the route to keep buses looking their best. We will test cleaning vehicles while in service to see if we can improve cleanliness while keeping Muni moving. Learn more about how we clean Muni vehicles today.
Hotspot Monitoring: We’re focusing on Muni stops where we hear from customers the most.
