Valencia Street in the Mission

Just in time for another round of warm weather, July's edition of Sunday Streets brings the car-free fun back to the Mission District. Spend an afternoon soaking in the sun and enjoying the free activities along Valencia Street, from Duboce Avenue down to 26th Street, including a Kids and Youth Park, Civic Engagement Portal, Arts and Culture Connection, live music and much more.

How to Get There on Muni: The J Church Line and the 12 Folsom/Pacific, 14 Mission/14R Mission Rapid, 22 Fillmore, 27 Bryant, 33 Ashbury/18th Street, 36 Teresita, 48 Quintara/24th Street, 49 Van Ness/Mission, 55 16th Street and 67 Bernal Heights routes will take you close to the festivities.

Muni service note: The 12, 27 and 55 will have reroutes. The J, 14/14R, 22, 33, 36, 48, 49, 55, and 67 may see increased ridership and possible delays.

Reminder: J Church Stop Changes at Balboa Park

Due to construction for the Balboa Park Station Area and Plaza Improvement Project, the J Church Line will continue to serve alternate stops on San Jose Avenue until the fall.

For details, please visit our Green Light Rail Center Track Replacement Project page.

Reminder: Van Ness Construction

All left turn lanes on Van Ness Avenue have been removed with the exceptions of those at Broadway (southbound), Lombard Street (northbound) and temporarily at Hayes Street (northbound).

Van Ness traffic lanes have been reduced from three to two on these segments:

  • Northbound from Post to Filbert Street

  • Southbound from Filbert to Washington Street

For complete details on these changes, please visit our Van Ness Improvement Project page.

“On Tap” gives you a heads up about the big events in town and what Muni routes and lines will get you to the party. Look for this feature to be posted usually on Wednesdays for a look ahead to the weekend. Check out our Weekend Traffic & Transit Advisory for more details.
