511: May 1-3, 2016, Bay Bridge reroute 12 hours More...

On-going construction work is taking place on the Bay Bridge that affects the 25-Treasure Island outbound route from May 1-3, 2016 from 9 pm - 6 am. 

The bus will go past the usual exit to Yerba Buena Island, turn around at the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza in Oakland, cross the bridge headed into San Francisco, take the Treasure Island exit and and then resume the regular route. 

For cars:

The Yerba Buena Island off ramp from eastbound I-80 will be closed Sunday night May 1 until Tuesday night May 3, between the hours of 11:59 pm and 6:00 am each night.
The on ramp from Yerba Buena Island to westbound I-80 will be closed Sunday night May 1 until Tuesday night May 3, between the hours of from 9:00 pm and 4:00 am each night.

Suggested Detour Route:

  • From San Francisco, travel eastbound until you reach the Oakland side of the bridge.
  • Move to the rightmost lanes and take I-880 to San Jose.
  • Exit at West Grand/Maritime Street.
  • Stay in the leftmost lane and at the first traffic signal at the West Grand/Maritime intersection, make a u-turn.
  • Stay in the left lanes to re-enter the on-ramp for westbound I-80 to San Francisco through the Toll Plaza.  Toll fees will be applicable.
  • Take the Treasure Island exit.

This April 23 we’re rolling out our fourth round of service improvements in just over a year. City-wide, nearly 20 lines will get more frequent service, eight lines will see expanded service hours, two lines will make new connections to BART, and two new Owl routes are launching!

New Owl Routes Launching!

Brand new Owl (All Nighter) service is proposed to launch for portions of the 44 O'Shaughnessy and the 48 Quintara-24th Street. Service will run every 30 minutes between the following destinations:

  • 44 Owl from Glen Park BART to the Bayview
  • 48 Owl from Noe Valley to 3rd Street

Please note service will technically begin at 1AM on April 24, 2016.

Expanding Service Hours

  • 28R 19th Ave Rapid – Monday through Friday Rapid service from 7AM to 7PM
  • Richmond Expresses – Service extended to 7PM on 1AX, 1BX, 31AX, 31BX
  • 30X Marina-Express—Service extended to 7pm, bigger buses on the line, plus stop consolidation along Chestnut Street to speed up the commute as part of the 30 Stockton Transit Priority Project
  • 57 Parkmerced – Weekday service to begin at 5AM
  • E Embarcadero – New weekday service from 10AM to 7PM

The 25 Treasure Island route downtown terminal is moved to the Transbay Temporary Terminal during construction of the new Transbay Terminal.

The 25 operates express within the South of Market area, stopping only at the Transbay Temporary Terminal.

Inbound

13th, Gateview, B, 9th, H, California, of the Palms, Treasure Island Rd., Bay Bridge, Folsom, Main to 108 island stop drop-off on Main before Howard (Transbay Temporary Terminal).

Outbound

From Transbay Temporary Terminal curb stop pick-up on Beale between Howard and Folsom via Beale, Folsom, Essex, Bay Bridge to Treasure Island exit, Treasure Island Rd., of the Palms, California, H, 13th to Gateview.
