St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival: Saturday, March 11, 2023
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, consisting of approximately 130 floats, will begin at 11:00 a.m. The parade will form along 2nd Street and go along Market to Civic Center Plaza. Streets will be closed and Muni will reroute buses. Read below for more details.

Street Closures
Starting at 9 a.m., 2nd Street will be closed between Brannan & Market for parade formation.
Starting at 10:30 a.m., Mission Street will be closed to automobiles between 9th St and Steuart to accommodate Muni reroutes.
Starting at 10 a.m., these streets will be closed for the parade route:
- Market Street, between 2nd St and McAllister
- McAllister, between Market and Polk
- Polk, between McAllister and Hayes
All streets will reopen after the parade is cleared and streets are cleaned, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Getting to Civic Center
The easiest way to get to Civic Center Plaza is via the Market Street Subway. BART may also be taken to Civic Center/U.N. Plaza station.
Muni Impact Summary
Some routes will switchback--changing from inbound to outbound--before they reach Market Street. Some routes will operate on Mission Street instead. Most routes that cross Market Street will be rerouted around the event areas. Reroutes start at different times, but all service will return to normal once Market Street is clear.
