This Weekend: Second Annual Women's March and a Mac 'n Cheese Competition

This Saturday, Women's March San Francisco will unite along with multiple other cities in California (and other states) to reaffirm its commitment to building a positive and just future for all, and to celebrate the spirit of resistance efforts over the past year. The rally is designed to engage and empower all people to support the full gamut of human rights as well as social and environmental justice. The march will begin at the Civic Center and travel down Market Street to the Embarcadero.

How to Get There on Muni: Anyone interested in joining the march can get to the Civic Center via any Muni Metro line to Civic Center station, the F Market and Wharves Line, as well as the 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 9 San Bruno, 14 Mission/14R Mission Rapid, 19 Polk or the 21 Hayes routes.

Muni Service Notes: The F Market and Wharves Line, 2 Clement, 5, 6, 7, 8 Bayshore, 9, 10 Townsend, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 14/14R, 19, 21, 27 Bryant, 30 Stockton, 31 Balboa, 38 Geary/38R Geary Rapid and 45 Union-Stockton routes will have reroutes. Service delays and vehicle crowding are possible during this event.

The Great Mac 'n Cheese Melt-Off

After a two-year hiatus, the cheesiest food truck competition returns to the SoMa StrEat Food Park to crown a new monarch of mac. This Saturday, 15 of the best food trucks and pop-up shops will be serving up mac and cheese specials throughout the day as they vie for to be voted the best in the city.

How to Get There on Muni: Hungry riders may take the 9 San Bruno, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 27 Bryant, or the 47 Van Ness routes to the event.

Muni Service Notes: There are no planned service changes for this event.

Reminder: Third Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project

Now through Friday, January 26, 2018: The Third Street Bridge is undergoing counterweight maintenance in preparation for the upcoming Third Street Bridge Rehabilitation Project. During the construction period, a full closure of the Third Street Bridge is required. Access will be restricted to all vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians between Berry and Terry A. Francois streets, for 24 hours per day. Waterway access will remain open to watercraft traffic. Access to private or commercial buildings and pedestrian pathway on either side of the bridge will be maintained at all times, however, delays should be expected.

Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead and may consider alternate routes:

Southbound Travel

Pedestrians: Use Bay Trail Path to 4th Street, then to Channel Street
People on Bikes: Use Berry Street to 4th Street, then to Channel Street
Motorists: Use King Street to Interstate 280 South, then to 18th Street

Northbound Travel

Pedestrians: Use Channel Street to 4th Street, then to Bay Trail Path
People on Bikes: Use Channel Street to 4th Street, then to Berry Street
Motorists: Use 16th Street to 7th Street, then to Brannan Street

Construction scheduling is subject to change due to weather delays, equipment problems and/or unforeseen field conditions.
