Service Changes Alert:

Starting Saturday, Muni will roll out the next round of Muni Forward service adjustments. While smaller than previous ones, they’re expected to make a big difference on some key routes.

We highlighted the advent of larger buses for the 5R Fulton Rapid and featured a detailed explanation of the changes coming to Sansome for the 10 Townsend and 12 Folsom-Pacific last month. Other routes will also be affected by smaller changes: 14X Mission Express, 19 Polk, 22 Fillmore, 24 Divisadero, 29 Sunset, 35 Eureka, 43 Masonic, 44 O'Shaughnessy, 55 16th Street. Get full details on the service alert page.

Stay in the loop by visiting the Muni Forward page for project and service updates.

Regional Transportation Reminder:

This weekend BART closures between Daly City and Glen Park stations will be in effect. This project will result in select weekend closures until Oct.16. Muni will be providing free shuttle service and extra service on several routes. For details, check out our July 18 blog post.

While parents and children in San Francisco are busy getting ready for the first day of school this coming Monday, there is still one last weekend of summer vacation on the books – so let’s make it a great one! If you’re in need of somewhere to go, the G-Men are back at the AT&T Park or you can head over to Yerba Buena Garden for a celebration of Filipino culture.

Giants Baseball
Friday through August 21, various times
AT&T Park

Now finding themselves in a tight race with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the top spot in the N.L. West, the Giants come back to AT&T Park on Friday for the start of an all-important 10-game home stand with matchups against the Baltimore Orioles, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the New York Mets.

On Saturday at 1 p.m., the Giants will unveil and dedicate a statue to Hall of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry.

If you’re planning on heading out to the ballpark, let Muni take you to AT&T Park. Service on the N Judah, T Third, E Line, 10 Townsend, 30 Stockton, 45 Union/Stockton, and 47 Van Ness will get you to or near 24 Willie Mays Plaza.

Visit our service alert page for complete details on taxis, biking, and parking during baseball season.

While the MuniMobile won’t let you buy those famous garlic fries in advance, it will let you purchase your Muni fare in advance so you can skip the subway ticket line and board that train a little bit quicker.

Muni service note: Muni Metro will provide addition ballpark shuttle trains to assist fans with both pre- and post- game service. Patrons should expect minor service delays near the ballpark due to heavier pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

Pistahan Parade and Festival
Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Yerba Buena Gardens

Over 150,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s Pistahan Festival, which is considered to be the largest celebration of Filipino American heritage in the country. Once inside the Yerba Buena Gardens, attendees can explore and discover Filipino art, music, dance, food, and more at seven different event pavilions. The traditional parade, which is on Saturday, will start at 11 a.m. at Fulton and Hyde streets. The route will go east on Market Street turning right onto 4th Street with the parade terminating at Mission Street.

Use public transportation to get to all the festivities, for service to Yerba Buena Gardens take the Muni Metro subway to Powell or Montgomery stations or the 8 Bayshore, 14 Mission, 27 Bryant, 30 Stockton, or 45 Union/Stockton. For service to the parade take the subway to either Civic Center or Powell stations.

Muni service note:  During the parade there will be re-routes on the: 5 Fulton, 5R Fulton Rapid, 6 Haight/Parnassus, 7 Haight/Noriega, 8 Bayshore, 9 San Bruno, 12 Folsom/Pacific, 19 Polk, 21 Hayes, 30 Stockton, 31 Balboa, 45 Union/Stockton, and F Market Line.
