Bay to Breakers

About this Event

Bay to Breakers is San Francisco's favorite footrace, taking people across the City, from the eastern neighorhoods by the San Francisco Bay to the sea breakers of Ocean Beach on the Pacific Coast. Like Muni itself, the race dates back to 1912 and impacts nearly every San Francisco neighborhood.

This year's race will take place on Sunday, May 21st. This information here will help all customers--participants or not--stay informed of service changes related to the race. If you're attending the race, we can help you get to there and back again, car-free. If you're going about your business as usual, we want to help you get around amidst all the hustle and bustle.

Service Impacts and Special Race Day Express Information

Even though the race itself is Sunday morning, streets will be closed and Muni services will be impacted as early as Saturday evening and as late as Sunday afternoon. Please visit the following pages for information regarding service impacts and extra services.

The race will impact regular Muni service all day Sunday, May 21. Please check back here for full service alert, reroutes, traffic, and delay details. Call San Francisco 311 Customer Service Center before the race day for personalized assistance.
