Loading zones and short-term parking provide access and loading for people or goods. They are marked by signs and/or curb paint which specify the hours, time limit and type of each zone. Every zone is open for use by the public, even if a business or organization sponsors the zone.

Fees
There are application, installation, and renewal fees associated with passenger loading, short-term parking, general loading, and dual-use zones. Government agencies providing public services, and non-profits that provide free services exclusively to seniors and people with disabilities, are exempt from fees. Application fees are non-refundable and cover the cost of the site assessment and the public notification and comment process. Installation fees are due once a zone is approved. Renewal fees are due every two years.
