Starting April 23, 2016, the Inner Richmond will get all-day, north-south Rapid service on the 28R, increased rush hour service on the 1 California, and extended express bus service until 7PM.

 Inner Richmond Transit Improvements

28R 19th Avenue Rapid: All-day Rapid Service to the Excelsior District

Starting April 23, the 28R will now provide Rapid service every 10 minutes from 7am to 7pm, Monday-Friday.

  • Starting at California St and 6th Ave, the 28R will now connect to Balboa Park BART and Mission at Geneva
  • Destinations include the Sunset District, Stonestown, and San Francisco State University
  • The 28 19th Ave local will continue to serve the Marina district and Daly City BART

1 California - Increased Peak Frequency

The 1 California will run every 6 minutes during the morning and evening commute hours, providing relief to crowded rides. 

Extended Express Service

All express routes serving the Richmond District will run until 7PM, including lines 1AX, 1BX, 31AX, 31BX, 38AX and 38BX.

2 Clement short line

A new electric short line will launch this April as well. Similar to the 30S, the short will primarily serve the Sutter corridor, turning back at California and Presidio Ave. View the line map.
